Iran is claiming it shot down a stealthy U.S. spy drone that flew into its airspace. Tehran claimed the unmanned aircraft was a stealthy RQ-170 Sentinel.

Meanwhile, U.S. officials say no unmanned aircraft was flown deliberately over Iran but they did lose contact with one of their aircraft, identified only as an unmanned aerial vehicle, last week over Western Afghanistan and it may have crashed in Iran.

Here’s what the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) the U.S.-led coalition in Afghanistan, had to say on the matter.

Besides its existence, not much has been publicly acknowledged by the U.S. about the jet-powered Sentinel.
